The thirteenth edition of the National Energy Awards, convened by the Association of Spanish Energy Management Agencies, EnerAgen, today opens the 2022 call to recognize the best projects or actions in favor of the energy transition throughout the territory national. These awards, which have been given since 2008, have the support and collaboration of Red Eléctrica de España, the company that has sponsored the last 4 editions.
After the parenthesis caused by the pandemic that made it impossible to organize in 2021, EnerAgen resumes its celebration, reaffirming its commitment for years to an efficient and sustainable, fair and balanced energy model, in which energy agencies and public bodies They play a fundamental role in the different territorial areas. Precisely, the Awards have managed to achieve outstanding national relevance throughout their history, since they represent a public recognition of the entities and organizations with competences in the management, planning and execution of energy policies at the local, supra-municipal and regional level that are part of EnerAgen.
The deadline for submitting applications will end next March 28.
On this occasion, the Cádiz Provincial Energy Agency (APEH) is the coordinator of this 13th edition and will host the Awards ceremony to be held at the end of May or beginning of June in Cádiz .
Four categories are convened, one more than usual, since a new award is included this year to the Best Performance in the Matter of Energy Communities, in line with one of the priority lines of work for the members of EnerAgen at present, which, in fact, have constituted a specific working group in this matter .
On the other hand, the categories of Renewable Energies, Energy Efficiency and/or Sustainable Mobility, and Awareness and Dissemination are maintained. In the bases you can consult the scoring criteria that will be taken into account when assessing the proposals received in each of the categories.
Participation, which will be channeled through the organizations belonging to EnerAgen or through the Association itself, is open to individuals, entities, groups, public and private companies and energy communities that have stood out at the national level, regional or local government for its work in some of the categories throughout the years 2020 and 2021. In the case of the category of Energy Communities, as they are new and incipient initiatives, applications will be accepted in which the formal constitution of the same has been carried out between January 1, 2020 and the date of publication of this call.
The proposals will be evaluated by a specialized jury that will be made up of five representatives of recognized prestige belonging to sectors of politics, technology, the university, journalistic and business fields, but closely related to the field of energy. As in the last editions, a representative of the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving, IDAE, as well as a representative of Red Eléctrica de España will form part of the jury. Their decision will be final and will be made public within a maximum period of three months from the end of the presentation of applications.
The prizes are financially endowed with the amount of €1,500 for the winner in each of the categories. In recognition of the award-winning performance, EnerAgen will also deliver the corresponding accrediting diploma within an award ceremony that will be publicly disseminated.
